Comment: Unusual wide angle view of a very old girl. How old? She was first registered on 12th February 1975 and still going strong. Cargo containers line the fence at Hamilton Airport leading the eye nicely into red white and blue.
In January 1994, Purolator chartered a dedicated fleet of aircraft from Kelowna Flightcraft Air Charter Ltd. (Kelowna). Today, Purolator's chartered fleet numbers 25 aircraft, 17 Boeing 727 aircraft, including this one, making Purolator the largest dedicated air express fleet in Canada. Not only is this an active aircraft but you are looking at a piece of aviation history. |

Comment: Evening arrival on Toronto's Rwy 23. Despite being only 10 years old, the paint is showing serious signs of fading and has definitely lost it's lustre. Airbus no longer manufacture the A300 as of 2006.

Comment: This bird is almost 27 years old. First registered on the 9th June 1980 with American Airlines where she flew for 20 years. Yes 1980 - keep that in mind if you see it flying overhead.
Then a short stint with Hawaiian Airlines before being put in storage in the Mojave Desert.
FedEx came along and gave the old girl another lease of life. She was converted to a freighter in time for Christmas 2005. |
