Comment: "Little Willie" having some problems by the looks of it. The pilot of the Hawker Hurricane getting into trouble whilst trying to isolate a problem in the cramped cockpit.
Finally after 10 minutes paramedics removed a very red faced but unhurt pilot. |

Comment: USX carries the colours of No 56 squadron. This bird was built in Montreal, Quebec by Canadian Car & Foundry. Starting her life as a Mk11B she was converted to a Mk XII in the early days of WWII.
Jack Arnold from Brantford was responsible for saving this old girls life. Plucking her from a scrapheap in 1984, she eventually ended up across the Atlantic and found a home in England. It would be five long years of hard work before she would be airborne again in 1991 and then purchased by David Price. All was well for the next 10 years.
Then the Museum of Flying closed it's doors in July 2002, once again the old girls future was uncertain. Thanks to Ed Russell in South Niagara, P2970 has a home in Canada once more. |

Comment: The Sopwith Strutter was a favourite target for German pilots due to the fact that it carried two allied airmen instead of just one.
