Comment: Coming over Dixie Road with the setting Sun painting a warm glow on the fuselage. This is one of the most famous aircraft in Air Canada's fleet. Nicknamed the "Gimli Glider" this aircraft ran out of fuel in 1983 over Manitoba and glided onto a disused RCAF airbase. Everyone on board survived the incident. She was retired later in 2007 after 24 years of service. |
